Trunk Club Review: May 2016

Can you tell that I am loving this service?! For an explanation of Trunk Club and to see my previous trunks you can click the links below:

Lets start off with the things I will not be providing photos of:
All items above were returned as they are not really my style nor did they fit very well.

These high waisted shorts I was torn about because they are on trend and fit amazing. I ultimately chose to return them, I am really not sure how incorporate them in my everyday wear to make them worth the price. The tank was returned as well, I just didn't love it or need it.

Comfortable but way too big - Returned

Super cute but the fabric was a little stiff for my taste - Returned

I was really hoping this world work, it would have been perfect for a nice dinner while on vacation. Not to mention it was on sale from $158 to $59. Sadly, the dress was too large. - Returned

Again, I wish I was attending a million weddings this year. How stunning is the back if this dress? I love the detail on the back where the fabric parts and exposes a thick gold zipper. - Returned

WOW... I would have never looked twice at this dress in the store but I love that it is so different and stunning! (Also, on sale for $70) - Unsure

Decisions, decisions, this little number would look fabulous for a dinner on the beach! The fate of this beauty will result on the previous dress, and my pocketbook of course! - Unsure

Finally, the shoes!! Although I love the tan pair and the simplicity of them, I have far, FAR too many shoes - Returned

So I will say it again, if you haven't tried Trunk Club you need to ASAP:

Trunk Club Review: April 2016

If you are unaware of what Trunk Club is you can check my previous post here: Trunk Club Review: March 2016. With some vacations in my future I thought it would be fun to reach out to my stylist and request a trunk with all vacation clothing. My stylist Lindsay did not disappoint with this trunk, lets get to it:

This dress was adorable but was a little too big and showed off a little too much cleavage for my taste:
Returned

I liked this dress when I saw the picture but the fabric was too stiff and itchy:
Returned

I was really torn about this dress, I love the style but something in the sizing was just off:
Returned

Oh my goodness can someone please get married?! I need to own this dress and have an event to wear it to... until then:
Returned

Too snug in the waist and too big in the bust... never had that problem before...:
Returned

This dress felt like pajamas...I want to live in this dress!! Back to reality: the dress is $178 and is a tad too big:
Returned

Love, love, love... but the fabric is extremely heavy and would be too warm in hot climates:
Returned

Too cute... but too expensive:
Returned

This shirt was actually on sale from $79... I like it but it's nothing special:
Returned

I would never pick these out or try them on but they are beautiful and so comfortable!:
Kept

Size large... Too big:
Returned

If this jumpsuit didn't have pockets that sit on the hips it would have been a real contender:
Returned

Itchy, itchy, itchy:
Returned

Lets be honest... I do not need shoes:
Returned &
Returned

Looking at the fact that I only bought one item, you would think this trunk was unsuccessful. BUT this service does exactly what I want it to do. It opens up my style and helps me step outside of the comfort zone. I would have never purchased or even looked twice that the pair of pants I choose to keep, but now I want to wear them everyday. I don't want to collect clothes but add a piece here and there that I am 100% in love with.

Trunk Club Review: March 2016

I was recently notified that a new subscription box had hit the market. At first I was not interested as new subscription boxes seem to pop up daily but… Two things caught my attention, it’s a FREE personal styling service, and it’s owned by Nordstrom! Trunk Club was originally independently owned and was a styling service for just men. Nordstrom purchased the company and opened the styling service to women as well. The service itself is free of charge, they send around fifteen items (clothing, shoes, jewelry, etc.) to your home and allow ten days for you to try on decide if you are going to keep anything and mail the trunk back. You get free shipping both ways and can even schedule a UPS pickup from your house with no additional cost. All the items sent are items that are sold at Nordstrom in store as well as online. If an item happens to be on sale at Nordstrom you will also get the same sale price in your trunk. After a couple of initial questions your stylist will send you a preview of your trunk, then you are able to select items that you are not interested in receiving. Your stylist will replace those items and send out your trunk! Another fun feature of this service is that when your trunk arrives your stylist will send you an e-mail with suggested outfits made up completely from what you can find inside your trunk. You can set up your service to receive it monthly or even just contact your stylist and order just one trunk. Your stylist is your stylist and you will always have a direct line of communication to just her.

I decided I wanted to try out the service because I had nothing to lose and there was no obligation to buy. Nordstrom can be pricey so I made sure to tell my stylist to keep the cost on the low end of things. Of course I was expecting a few big ticket items to be thrown in my trunk.

Below are the items I received in my trunk:

Next I will show you the outfit suggestions I received as well as pictures of me trying on the suggestions:

All in all I was really impressed by this service. In the future when I need an outfit for an event or something special I will probably contact my stylist and order a trunk! If you are interested in trying out this service you can click the link below to be connected to my personal stylist:

Beauty Box 5 - July 2014

Beauty Box 5 is a monthly subscription box that delivers 5 sample sized beauty products right to your door. This subscription costs $12 a month and offers free shipping. I used a coupon code that saved me 100% on my first box. Unfortunately, the code is no longer valid but I will keep you posted if I can find another.

Beauty Box 5 - July 2014

At first glance I was a little disappointed because this will be my third Revlon Bold Lacquer I have received. I am aware this is not Beauty Box 5's fault but I really think Revlon needs to rethink ways of getting their product out to the public.

Items left to right:

Starlooks Lip liner - $12.00
I have always been interested in trying the Starlooks brand. I also have not gotten into lip liner much so this will be interesting to try. Starlooks actually offers a subscription box themselves for $15 a month and sends out only Starlooks brand iems.

Body Drench Candy Licious Lips - $3.99
This instantly brought me back to my childhood. I received the scent lime gumdrop and that is exactly what it smells like. This lip balm leaves no color on your lips but helps moisturize and repair. It has already made it's way into my purse.

Anna Naturals Glowing Mama Walnut Face & Body Scrub - $10.99
This product left me a little confused. I love body scrubs but I don't believe I would be able to really use and review this product/company because of how small of a sample I received. This would possibly be a one time use if I even have enough for my whole body and face.

HASK Argan Oil Intense Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment - $2.49
My hair and scalp have been going crazy sense I have moved to the east coast so I will take any hair oils I can get my hands on. I am sad to say that my scalp has yet to recover from this past winter and needs all the TLC it can get.

Revlon Bold Lacquer Mascara - $7.99
I now have three of these bad boys and still have yet to try it! I guess you can say I am secretly boycotting it because it is all over YouTube and I keep getting them with every box. With that said I really need to suck it up and give this a try because I have heard it is amazing!

Total Value: $37.46

Over all I was not thrilled with this box, there are other boxes that are only $10 a month and seem to offer better products or better sized products. I feel bad because I did receive this box free of charge but I have canceled my subscription. I feel that if I am going to be paying monthly (even if it's only $12) I want to be over the moon excited to receive the products every month and I don't feel as if this was the right fit for me. I will continue to try out new subscription boxes and let you know my findings.

Popsugar Must Have Box - July 2014

The Popsugar Mush Have Box is a subscription box that is $39.99 a month and includes full size items in the following categories:

Fashion
Beauty
Home
Fitness
& Food

You can pay month to month or purchase a multi-month plan that saves you some cash. For someone that has extra money in their pocket this box is a ton of fun. For me the monthly membership is a tad out of my price range. I did find a coupon code and received a hefty discount off of my first month which made it that much more enjoyable.

This is the July 2014 Popsugar Must Have Box

Items left to right:
ACME Party Box Company Chevron Straws - $7
Dang Foods Toasted Coconut Chips - $3
Michael Stars Beach Hat - $48
Sun Bum Sunscreen and Lotion - $20
TKO Jump Rope with Soft Grip Handles - $13
French Bull Ziggy Salad Servers - $12

Special Extra:

Although I did receive my first box using a discount code I have decided not to continue my subscription. This box is chuck full of fun but in my eyes these items are not necessities. (Probably why they are so fun!) So sad to see you go Popsugar it's been a fun month!
