(And of course awaiting the arrival of our end of semester grades) Joe and I have a couple of exciting things on the horizon as well as my big 2-9 happening next week so things here on the blog should be heating up soon.

Please Stand By....

I know this is a little early this year BUT I will be talking next week and a half off from the blog scene. Usually around Christmas I will announce that I will be missing in action for the following weeks due to holidays and vacation. A couple of months ago we made a rash decision to travel not only around Christmas but also around Thanksgiving. As you can imagine with being mid semester at school and trying to prepare for an early vacation, I am just a tad scatter brained. Please be patient and be sure check back the week of December 1st for some vacation recaps!

Happy Early Thanksgiving to ALL!

Sunday Funday?

(this is all clean laundry)

Has this ever been you?

Before the weekend Joe and I both agreed that this weekend was going to be dedicated to chores. We have multiple vacations in the near future and we need to start preparing. Saturday we started off strong by making a hot breakfast and running to the bank, library, gas station, and grocery store. Then things came to a screeching halt. Joe and I decided to take a little break and catch up on a TV show or two. This lead to an afternoon nap and I did not get back on my feet until 6pm! Usually I would be embarrassed to admit I slept for hours during the day but we have no kids yet so we might as well take advantage.

Our sleep filled Saturday caused us to have a less than relaxing Sunday. Six loads of laundry and some house cleaning later it was 9pm on Sunday night. This morning I am still exhausted but feel great that I am going to be going home to a clean house. (Even if it's not until 11pm)

Now, I can focus on packing for vacation!

A Lost Weekend

Have you every taken a weekend just to yourself to get things done for you and not for anyone else? Joe and I decided this past weekend was going to be for just this. We both had homework to do but other than that we decided we were going to "check out." The main purpose of the weekend was to get ahead in school but to also completely relax and enjoy some down time.

With our current work/school schedule we do not get the sleep we need or deserve. So one of my main goals was to get caught up on my sleep. I think I went a tiny bit overboard when I went to lie down to read a book at 6:00pm on Sunday, accidentally feel asleep did not... I repeat did not wake up until Monday morning. Not only did I not eat dinner but failed to make anything for lunches this week and will not have a chance to do so until Tuesday night.

So as I sit here on the Monday after our lost weekend I am no more relaxed than usual! I know I may be alone on this I feel like I need to get chores and errands done on the weekend to feel more relaxed when Monday comes.

Can I get a re-do?

Cat Got Your Tounge?

I apologize for the sudden break from blogging but both my husband and have started back at school and I needed a little time to adjust.

The remainder of this semester will be busier than ever but tomorrow I will be resuming my normal blogging schedule.

Thanks for your patience!

Summing Up The Last Month

I am BACK by popular request :)

Recently I have been getting requests to blog, blog, blog. I thought now would be a great time to get back into the swing of things. I'll give you a little update on the last month and then share a few blog posts that go further into fun details. So lets see, where to start:

  • I saw my 2nd Broadway Play
  • I had a week long vacation from work
  • I have some exciting news brewing regarding my education
  • My DAD and Julie came to visit
  • The Husband is planning a Birthday BBQ for me (I turn 28 on Monday the 19th!)
  • I have been really good at getting to the gym
  • I spent Easter with family out of state
  • We will be having an unexpected visitor in the next two weeks
  • I am still a full 10 pounds lighter than I was when I started eating Paleo

That is all that I can think of at the moment but be sure to check back for more interesting and detailed posts!

Special Delivery

There is nothing better than arriving home after long day of work and seeing some presents on your front porch.

Keep in mind these were not actually presents but things I bought on eBay for dirt cheap. I am known for being a bargain hunter and sometimes eBay can be an obsession of mine. These packages were extra exciting because they were:

BOOKS!!!

After Joe finished the entire Maze Runner series last week I was dying to get a hold of it. I have already read Divergent and knew that it was a series I wanted to own.

Happy Reading!

Missing In Action

Good Morning Bloggers!

As you can see I have been skipping my blogging routine for the last week or so. My husband had Spring Break last week so we spent a ton of time cooking and relaxing. Please bare with me as I get my thoughts in order and return with some exciting and yes, some paleo posts.

Happy Tuesday :)

ALS Walk

Living across the country from all of our loved ones has its down sides. An extremely important person in our lives has been diagnosed with ALS. There was an ALS walk this weekend that we were unable to be apart of. (We were there in spirit) This is not the first time we have had someone close to us fighting a horrible disease and I can't say it hurts any less. I am lucky to say that I have cancer survivor in my family but this in no way means there is an end in sight. I encourage every single one of you to donate big or small to a cause that is close to your heart, every little penny helps. For those that are interesting in donating to an ALS foundation here is a link: DONATE

God bless all those that are fighting for their lives!

Signs

Joe and I recently received text messages from some of our closest friends letting us know they had a strong feeling I was with child. That same day I received a card from one of my best friends asking me to move home and have babies ASAP. I took this as a sign and took a test right away. well.....

I am NOT with child...

but what do these signs mean? I am one who believes in signs just as my mother and I always see a pair of birds and believe it to be my god parents watching over us. With that said do you think this was a coincidence of a sign of some sort?

Whats in Your Bag?

I used to take after my mother and carry everything but the kitchen sink in my purse but I have sense downsized. It is always interesting to me to learn what girls carry with them on a daily basis.
I am not too exciting these days but I do carry the following:
  • Wallet
  • Car Keys
  • Camera
  • Headphones
  • Nail file
  • Pen
  • Mints
  • Coupons
  • and I ALWAYS have a book with me
What do you carry?

I'm BACK!

Thank you for being patient with me. The way life has been this past month left me little to no time for blogging. I am currently taking a condensed Biology course for six weeks and actually finished my assignments early to be able to update you on the past month! Check back soon for some exciting posts. :)

Hautelook.com

These days there are so many blogs and websites promising the best discounts and deals on everything from soap to shoes, but I think I have found a real winner. I signed up for hautelook.com months ago but never really found the time to explore the website. Last week at work my co-worker was talking about it and mentioned that there are actually extremely good deals. I wondered onto the website a couple days ago and was shocked to see some of the deals being offered. Here is an example:

If you know me you know I am a sucker for a good deal and rarely purchase items at full price, so this is my dream place to shop. This website operates a little differently than others, they hold events everyday for specific brands and those deals are only offered for about 48 hours. There is also a limit on how many of one item is available. They offer deals for women, men, kids, jewelry, and more.

I just wanted to share the wealth, enjoy!

MIA

As you can see I have been missing in action for some time. I have been working long hours at work which include the weekends so any down time I come across are spent sleeping or at the gym. I am sure I will be back to my normal schedule soon which will include regular posts. Please stick with me :))

Can you believe it? After starting this blog about a year ago and barely using it in the beginning. Now 100 entries later many rave about my little ole blog, it’s a little hard to believe.

eBay Success Story

For a couple years now I have been selling odds and ends on eBay and really began to love using it as my online garage-sale. During our move I discovered these beauties:

Yes, I know these are a little crazy looking but there is a story behind them. I bought them while on vacation in Seattle. I walked into Bebe and found this pair in my size on the clearance rack. I had seen these in the Bebe catalog and secretly loved them even though they are not really my style. I asked the rep how much they were and I was told that they had found these in the back room that morning with no box and no price, but if I gave her a few minutes she would come up with a price. She came back and said I could have them for $50. I told her to wrap them up and hoped that she would complete the transaction before she realized that she was selling me $250 boots for $50. When I returned from my vacation in Seattle I was dying to try them out. As I was trying to slip my right foot into the boot I was horrified to realize that because of my high arches and there being no zipper on the boots there was no way I was going to get my foot into this boot. I tried a couple other times and even had a friend of mine struggle and fail to get them on herself. Reluctantly, I kept these in my closet for years.

I was finally ready to part with them when I unpacked them in New York. I decided to sell them on eBay because it made me feel better if I at least got my money back. To my surprise these were in high demand and I ended up selling them for a whopping $150.00!!
