Back to My Roots

In May I had planned to take a trip home to SURPRISE both my parents for their 60th Birthdays! It was probably the best trip ever. (Minus the fact that Joe could not join me) I had to go through months of secrets and scheming to make this happen.

Keep in mind that mom came to visit twice after I had booked the trip and I think I almost split the beans at least once during her visit.

The first day in town me, my co-worker, and my mother enjoyed breakfast in Capitola. All the while my father was still unaware of my whereabouts. ;)

That night I walked into my dads 60th Birthday party and surprised him.

Do I look happy to be with my Daddy on his 60th? Probably the best trip I will ever take.

The next day to celebrate my mothers 60th birthday she had some requests. These requests included...

Zip-lining in Santa Cruz (Yes, my mother is afraid of heights)

Well I thought she was...

And of course her daughter is scared of NOTHING... ;) I'm kidding!

"Anything you can do I can do better!"

From there we hopped in the car and headed to San Francisco to cruise around town in our rented bug!

Such a perfect 60th Birthday picture!

Ohh... by the way... my Mom also celebrated her 60th by doing something else...

SHE GOT HER FIRST TATTOO!!

I'm BACK!

Thank you for being patient with me. The way life has been this past month left me little to no time for blogging. I am currently taking a condensed Biology course for six weeks and actually finished my assignments early to be able to update you on the past month! Check back soon for some exciting posts. :)

One Year Later...

One year ago today Joe and I were boarding a flight to JFK hoping and praying that everything would work itself out. This was by far the hardest but best decision we have ever made. Now I do not want to worry my grandmother so I will say this. New York is absolutely perfect for Joe and I now, but there is no telling what the future holds or where we will live. Thank you to everyone who continues to show us support and a huge thank you to my mother who visited us 4 times during our first year in NY!

Memory Lane

Going through some of my Mom's pictures I came across these:

The first dress I put on was the ONE! It's strange to think this was over 2 1/2 years ago!
These days I am not able to wear my dress anymore because it is now a couple sizes too BIG! ;) Impressive I think!

Boston in Spring

Last month Joe and I drove to Boston to attend a wedding reception. This was one of the best receptions I have ever been to. The bride was nice enough to send me some of the photos from the evening. Enjoy:

Boston is now one of my favorite places!
